Robert Stuart offers the largest range of metal finishing services on a single site in the UK from its base in Harlow, Essex. Founded in 1945, and still in the same family ownership, the company has NADCAP, ISO 9001:2008, AS 9100:3 and ISO 14001 accreditation. We also hold approvals to work for all the prime aerospace manufacturers.

Robert Stuart has specialised in the aerospace sector since its inception, our earliest involvement meant working directly with the pioneers and founders of the modern UK aerospace industry. This included De Havilland, Hawker Siddeley, Handley Page, Rolls Royce, British Aircraft Corporation and Westland Helicopters. We are pleased to say that this involvement continues to the present day, though nowadays most of our business comes from 1st and 2nd tier suppliers to the prime manufacturers.

The expertise gained in this field has enabled us to transfer our skills to the satellite, defence, motor sport and medical industries where we can offer specialist treatment solutions for complex and intricate engineering requirements.

Our range of treatments covers non destructive testing, plating, anodising, painting and process evaluation. Many of the jobs we undertake require numerous different processes, some up to ten. Undertaking these processes on one site offers cost savings and faster turnround times to our customers.
